Other causes of an ectopic pregancy are PID, endometriosis, tubal surgery, as well as smokers. Also if your mother was exposed to DES while you were in the womb could have caused a deformity to your reproductive tract. The best way to potentially avoid another ectopic is to talk to your doctor about the best ways to ensure normal implantation next time. I had one ectopic pregnancy when i was 19 also, and after finding out what caused the problem helped my doctor and i to determine the best approach for normal implantation. I have since had one miscarriage, although it wasn't ectopic, and now i am pregnant again and everything appears to be normal. It can happen for you, but if all else fails, you could try getting a doctors help and have the egg and sperm joined in a petri dish, then the doctor can implant the embryo's in you uterus.

I am sorry that happened to you. I also had an ectopic pregnancy with no prior history "down there". My tube had ruptured with the ectopic so they performed surgery to remove the pregnancy and the tube. About 9 months later I was pregnant again. I suffered a miscarriage with that pregnancy but was pregnant again three months after that (we have no hobbies) and I have two beautiful children now ages 2 and 1. (again no other hobbies). My understanding was to wait a couple weeks to heal, emotionaly and physicaly, then to start trying again, with your doctor's ok of course. Good luck.

I have a slightly different story to you but I had a miscarriage on the 4th February (I was just over 5 weeks pregnant) everything passed naturally and my GP told me that I could try to conceive again straight away. On the 23rd February I noticed egg white cervical mucous (I usually ovulate 17 days passed menstruation but this month was 20 days) Anyway my partner and i did the baby dance and hoped for the best. I am now 3 days late and couldnt wait any longer to test. I tested about an hour ago and got a BFP!! I did not expect this to happen straight away but it just goes to show that if you have hope anything can happen. You seem to have a lot of questions so my best advice to you would be to go and have a good chat with your GP. All the best in your attempts

I had an ectopic Xmas 2005 and had my tube removed. I gave birth to my son January 2007!

You are unfortunately at an increased risk of further ectopics but try not to worry - hang in there. I had two miscarriages prior to my ectopic and I believe that if its meant to be it will happen.

Good Luck!

Your cycles being regular is a very good sign that you are ovulating. So you should find it quite easy to conceive. But you need to go and see a doctor as soon as you get a positive test so they can check to see if is ectopic.
It's good that they repaired your tube. My sister had 2 ectopics and they removed her tubes both times, but she still went on to have a little girl using IVF.

I am so sorry to hear this happened to you! But I hear as long as your husband has a good count of sperm that chances are 40-50 %, that is better then nothing. Also did your OBGYN doctor put you on any fertility drugs? I just read that should be done to help increase the chances and the percentage will be higher.
