Does any search tool exist to which we can give an image as an input and it will search the web to output all information available about that image? e.g. I have a photo of a person and want to find out his/her name. If such a tool doesn't exist, is it feasible to build one? Has anybody tried this before?

Nothing commercially available, that I know of... it would be possible to build such an engine, but you'd have to think of the massive undertaking: any and every image catalogued would have to be 'tagged', so to speak, to include the person's name, or the location, or whatever possible information could be pulled from the image. after that, it's a simple search string, but you're relying on the cataloguing efforts of the general public. Not impossible, but not likely anytime soon.

the fbi probably has a program like that. if your looking for a person but don't know much about her but what she looks like your best bet might be Myspace if you could connect her to anyone or anyplace you would be able to compare pics
