When in Final Fantasy X at the end you see all the Aeons die, and you think back to the beginning events of the game when they all got together and see what all they went through and where and how it ended. Spending many, many hours in the game and to see them all go through good and bad times they can really get attached to you. And I even played FFX-2, and after having spend all those hours in X and to see how the world changed, allowing machina in the temples and to see all the once familiar settings aged and changed since you last saw it, it can really hit you hard and just be like 'thought it would never get like this'.
