well i will analyze it with u
1) no one will be able to give star to his own question , and i think yahoo made good work in that
2) about the best contributor , from it i can know more about users here in this site and how they think most of their time
also u can be proud of being top contributor in one or more categories , here its up to three categories count as top contributor , and also it will encourage new users to concentrate in specific categories to get it
3) network , u will add best friend to u and u will be able to know more recent information about ur friend , like question he/she asked and also any new star that ur friend gave to any question and he / she think its interesting
4)also u can know who care and think that u r interesting and added u to his /her network
i love the new changes

1) IT SERIOUSLY SUCKS! How else can you explain Juventina and Kasper not having it. I think it promotes favouritism. Bad thing. They have no merit basis. Kasper has 11% best answer still he doesnt get one. I think you just have to sleep with the YA officials to get it. No offense to people who have it!
2) Great new feature. Adds variety.

I think the "contacts" or "network" function is totally redundant. I could always track contributors by saving their profile as a bookmark.
The new "contacts" function will just be abused by trolls and people trying to get accounts suspended.

they got some good defence I was really impressed.
