ultrasound technician

An ultrasound technician or sonographer takes the ultrasound. These people are not doctors, they just take the images.

A radiologist reads the ultrasound that was taken by the sonographer. A radiologist is a medical doctor, and it is very rare for them to take ultrasounds (although a few do).
