I have a Midi Software (Piano soft) ,which takes Keyboard as the Input.I have A Inter 945 Mother board with AC '97 sound card.
Issue :: When I Play the Keys on the Key Board ,there is a half a sec delay ,so that i donot get the Right Music when i Play.
But with My Old Computer(PII,128 mb Ram, Creative Soundcard) It Works Perfect.I haven't thrown It out 'cos of this Use...
Is There any help or thoughts.

1.You may have to download latest drivers for AC97 sound card.
2Check and compare the codecs in both new and old computers.
3Start/ConrolPanel/System/Hardware/DeviceManager
sound and audio codecs.
4 C;/Program Files/Directx?Setup/Dxdiag.
Check sound and test different codecs.
5. Select TaskBar/Vol Control /Open Volume Control/Options/Properties/Mixer Device
Is it Ac97?
and check recording/playback sound settings

If the Card being Used is the same, I suspect yes you do have a Driver problem
However, if the Card is different, then its a hardware compatibility issue. Midi Units will usually use the Voices that the Card can supply. So your Best test is take the old card out of the PC, place it in the new PC, try an input, if the same problem replicates, then yes it is a Driver Problem, however I suspect that the Problem will not be there... just a guess, but worth a try, especially if your newer machine has more RAM and more CPU power. Those Creative Soundcards can be very good
