He has paper work from the fire marshall even telling him to do it, basicly telling him to clean the attic where there is decaying rodants , feces, and urine everywhere. The worst is the mold, my roommate and I have been sick for 6 months now cause of it and he still wont do anything about it.

you can withhold the rent but you have to put it into an escrow account. You usually have to file paperwork with the civil court as well.

the fire marshall usually gives a certain number of days in to fix a problem usually around 30 days before they come and reinspect it. If the repairs aren't done with in a period of time try contacting the fire marshall yourself. He has the ability to close the whole apartment complex himself. Good luck!!!!

You can with hold your rent until the problems are fixed. The rent must be available like in a checking acct. Check out this website for more help http://www.hud.gov/groups/tenants.cfm

Robert has it right...... But also, he has a time table to take care of it. If he doesn't report him to the Fire Marshall and they will fine him a daily fine until it is rectified......Slum Lord.....
Also consult a lawyer.........
