Current theory says that the collision of two 11 dimensional planes collided and the resultant collision caused an expansion of newly formed heat and matter in to what we understand as our current 3 dimensional space. Read parallel Worlds by Professor Michio Kaku.

In the middle of nothing; something, is about as close as I would venture because it may still be happening. Also a, " Big Bang " implies an event and this is up for debate. A"Singularity" may better explain it.

God created the heavens and the earth. Gods wonderful creation was done in an instant over seven days. WOW WHAT A BIG BANG.
I am a Christian First and a scientist second. We are taught never to plager anothers work. Why do we plager God's work with secular theories?

All of the energy and matter in the universe existed in the form of light emiting from a single point. As the universe expanded it cooled and the matter condensed out of the pure energy state.

It was absolutely dreadful....you couldn't hear yourself think!
It REALLY made me jump!....thought the world was about to end! Think of a car backfiring....well it was MUCH louder than thatI My neighbours complained to the public health people. Of course they did nothing - as usual. "keep a diary, and note the times it happens again". Typical!
