I think that Marilyn Manson is what you would call "Ultra-Goth". His songs are pretty scary. There is nothing really I have against him, except for the fact that he gives me nightmares. But then again, he is just like everyone else. I don't have anything against any style of music, I just want an opinion. I have only heard two songs, the Beautiful People and Tainted Love. Also, I have had people tell me that there is some media out there that is blaming him for suicidal deaths, does anyone agree with that? Personally I don't, it is their choice if they want to commit suicide, but I am way open for other opinions-Thanks..

Marilyn Manson is a truly gifted individual. He was actually tepid towards the "Marilyn Manson" project, and all the theatre that went along with it. He is actually much better known in the music industry as a producer. He's produced a lot of music for a lot of bands. Suicide? Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, Blue Oyster Cult, et al, have also been accused of promoting suicide. If any work of art can produce suicide, it would probably be Romeo & Juliet, yet no one points thier finger at Shakespeare.

No Marilyn Manson's music isnt gothic. It's dark but its not gothic. Marilyn Manson maybe goth but not his music. Its along the lines of something called shock rock. Like Lizzy Borden, Alice Cooper, and Rob Zombie almost kinda of stuff. I think if I'm not mistaken, he did a remake of "Tainted Love" (which is by Soft Cell) but I havent heard the song to know if its a remake or not.
I do agree that its not completely his fault for deaths. Marilyn Manson is an intelligent person but he expresses himself different than what most people think of him.
For a side note, Gothic music is different to people. IM me if you wanna know more.

Marilyn Monroe is on my wallet. =] Heh. i could could elect Marilyn Monroe, her video clips are classics & she became very suitable. Her adolescence became a war yet she managed to achieve success, even if her way of existence before and through repute took a toll on her existence, she became stunning. Marilyn Manson does truly some covers, have self belief it or no longer. And Marilyn Manson does no longer act/look the way he does if he did not desire funds. have you ever seen pictures before he went well-known? i wager no longer.

Personally, i dont think you can really link ANY celebrity to suicides.....especially to the ones at columbine high that he was blamed for. Its the parents job to keep track of what theyre kids are doing and marilyn was just easy to blame for it. im a big fan of his music and style i think hes an amazing artist in all forms of the word and if those are the only two songs you've heard you should look him up some more because hes really good. some of my favorite songs of his are "coma white" "coma black" "man that you fear" definately "the dope show" "mechanical animals" "panorama of the Endtimes" "user friendly" and "i wanna disappear" for starters lol i could go on for hours......my favorite album of his would be the golden age of grotesque or mechanical animals but theyr all so different sound-wise that its hard to compare....anyways, his new album "eat me drink me" comes out March 23 so keep a look out!

I love him! But I'm into Goth and dark industrial music and I'm a freak too (his wife is really HOT!) And I don't believe that anyone kills themselves over a song - sorry, they win the Darwin Award if that's true. You should check out more of his music before deciding. He's this generation's Alice Cooper - someone else will do that schtick in 10 years.

First off, he's not goth. He just wants you to think he is. He's the modern day Alice Cooper (yes, I know Alice Cooper is still around) in that he's just as much about the theatrics as the music. He obviously knows what angst-ridden teens want to see and hear, so I give him credit for that. Personally, its not my kind of music, since I like real goth music (i.e. Sisters of Mercy, Switchblade Symphony) but for what it is, its pretty good.

I think he's overly dramatic like all the other goth folks out there.
Maybe his mommy didn't give him enough attention when he was little.
I don't think he should be blamed for some other person's mental illness which leads to suicide.

I think he is a very strange and untalented singer with very evil and strange lyrics in his so called music to be completely honest. He also appears to be confused of his sexuality and I believe he just loves being the center of attention and controversial. You couldn't pay me to watch him perform.
