Looking back at the 79th Annual Academy Awards 2007 those 3 black women Jennifer Hudson, Beyonce Knowles and the other one whom I don't know. It gets annoying quick.

Shouting makes their voice aweful so I agree, however, not all of them like to yell their throats out.

I can appreciate your perspective, but it isn't only black women, and not all black women sing like that. The 3, (only 3 mind you) that you named were indeed yelling at the Oscars, but I suspect that was a way of "competing" with one another. It's non-effective because being a vocalist, I know that singing TOO loud will eliminate your ability to control the notes.
We should always think twice about asking a question like this. It's like asking "Why do white women like to whisper when they sing?" I don't think that personally, but do you see what I mean? It can go both ways. Joe Cocker performs that way, and he's not a black woman at all.
By the way, â¥TEENYTINYâ¥, what the hell is a "COLORED WOMEN" ? Have you been in a coma for 50 years or something?

I cannot STAND Jhud's voice! She is shouting when she gets to higher notes, but she can carry a tune...unlike white pop stars like britney spears and the American Idol "singers".
Beyonce sounds better than Jhud.

Please stop generalizing. Why don't you ask why Rod Stewart or Elton John scream when they sing. What about when any rock group starts to yell. In any event it all boils down to the artist trying to show emotion in their words. That crap is extremely annoying but I wont go on YA posting a ignorant question about it. Well, their records sell, so I think that gives them the impression that what they are doing is well liked.
I don't like the "shouting" either!!
And IMHO it's not just black women that shout....a LOT of female singers do, regardless their ethnicity!!

Um that's not neccasarily true. Many African American women don't "shout". They may have big voices but, not all African American women do that when they sing. I'm sorry but this is just sheer ingorance.You should look at it from different points of view,gosh.

You must not know much about real singing, real vocal talent and how to use it. They are not shouting, most of them just know how to use the right muscles to properly project their voices.

That’s because black women have amazing soulful voices... When we sing we use all our emotions pain and love. It’s powerful and we don’t hold back... I guess you wouldn’t understand cause your obviously not a black women! Buy hey if you don’t like it you can always change the channel or the station :)

they like to be heard i guess.very powerful voices.nothing wrong with that.i can sing but not like them.i think it sound stupid when a white person trys to sing like that they don't have it in them.
