This question is about Macedonia Greece. The interested places in Macedonia are the capital city of Thessaloniki, the ancient monuments in Vergina and Pella.
Mount Athos is the cradle of orthodoxy and the beaches of Halkidiki are the best places for party.
Everything you want is in Macedonia.
What the user Solun answer has to do with the question. He is from the Fyrom country and they use illegally the name Macedonia.
This kind of crap should be band from Yahoo answers site.

You can search at any searching engine for the words Macedonia, Makedonia and Thessaloniki.
Just don't confuse the real Macedonia which is within Greece with the country with the name "Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia". That country just claims the name and the history of Macedonia and it has nothing to do with the historical Macedonia.

Thessaloniki is great and Chalkidiki(but there are great beaches for swimming and that time of year is not going to be a good idea).
Kavala,Edessa and Serres are very nice too and don't forget to visit Vergina (south-west of Thessaloniki) were the royal tombs of Philipp,father of Alexander the Great, are.
The only sure is that the Greek hospitality is unique!

well u should definately visit Thessaloniki,the largest city on Macedonia..you can find lots of pictures here:

You should also visit the tomb of Phillip outside of Veroia..

I also been there too. pella, langadia, thessli, vera, bolos (very expensive) and Maramara (with the view of the sea). these places are fanastic... espacially in June.
