any religion who recognizes jesus christ as the savior is a form of cristianity.
although there are many of both, that qualify as neither.

I think they consider themselves Christians. My understanding is that the core belief of Christianity is that Jesus is the Lord and Savior and the only path to the Kingdom of God. So if they believe that, ipso facto, they're a sect of Christianity.

Absolutely - in fact it is one of the first stems of Christianity: Protestantism etc all stemmed originally from Catholicism
