I had this qustion up before and my best friends said I should put it up again and get some more anwers.

Because she says I did not tell people what I really look like.

People say i look like Ziyi Zhang. But you see I have blues eyes and blonde hair. (left that out last time)

My dad says I get it from my moms side sence she has some white in her.

My mom is a dark skinned black person and my dad is asian. I look just like a asian girl, But as soon as i tell people that my mom is black, they are like what! And i used to leave in asia, (not saying were) they would treat me different whe they found out my mom was black. They would say i was black and treat me like i was.

So i tell people now that i am black. But my father gets mad and sad when I say this. He says that i am a part of him too and i should say i'm both, but i'm like then i should say i am Mexican and Irish too. Because my mom's grandmother was that.

So sometimes people even think I am asian and white.

I say i am black! I do not want to be a mutt! i want to belong to a race of people.

I can not say I am all those things because I can not have my cake and eat it to.

I think you are thinking too hard. Many people share your same story and they aren't making a big deal out of it. I know someone who is Irish/Cuban with German, American Indian, and Italian bloodlines. He doesn't see it as any big deal. So, you're Black Asian... be cool with that, and other people will too. You are judged by your character... nothing else.

That doesn't make you a mutt unless your parents are dogs. You are what you are. Your mom is black, your dad is asian and you are black and asian. You don't have to add the Irish and Mexican to mix unless you think that your mom should tell people that when she tells people her race. You can use whatever description you like, but that doesn't change anything about your origins. What you really need to do is come to terms with who you are and move on to more important things.

You are putting way to much on it. You're black and asian. You can say that. Its fine. Call yourself what you want to call yourself. But, if you look mostly Asian and you're going around just saying you're black. You're going to get a few strange looks anyway. So, to avoid all confusion... you're Black and Asian. If someone asks, and you want to go a little deeper than that. Then feel free to give them your whole family tree and throw in Mexican and Irish too if that will make you feel better. But, leaving it at black and asian is perfectly okay.

I think if some one asks you what you are, tell them you are Human. That's all they need to know. That's all you need to say. If some one is genually interested in your heritage, then you can go into details about where your dad is from and where your mom is from.

Being a "mutt" is not bad. You don't need to identify with one race over another. Just be yourself. Where you are from does not matter. Attract people to yourself based on your personality, not on what race they think you are.

Your actual race is "Human" , you and I have something in common
our ancestors came from a lot of different nations and/or
parts of the world. There are some things about us that are
really quite different; you're a cute young blond, I'm a bald old
fart, our complexions are probably quite different, and you
feel it's necessary to tell folks a color to associate you with --
I don't. -------need more be said??

Say you are Jas M, then. Why is this so troubling? Many people are biracial these days. If someone asks you, just say what pops in your head. If you want to identify with being black then say you're black (just expect follow up questions I guess).

if you're not then don't, i can see you maybe identify more with whatever side but you should embrace both and let it be known you are beautifully mixed, nothing wrong with that! i plan on ( if i have kid) making a couple of mixed babies myself, i wouldn't dare call you or any other mixed person a mutt even for me that an insult!

What a twisted web we weave! I'm a mix of must european countries with some turkish from way back thrown into the mix. I'm proud to be a mutt! I don't want to be known as any race!

Join the movement to get away from racial classification, when some one asks what you are, proudly proclaim "I'm me and a Homo Sapien".

I'm half Iranian, with some Jewish, Russian, Scottish, and English in me. I'm not freaking out.

However, if you don't like people treating you differently when you say you're half black, don't tell them! How often do people ask you what your race is, anyway?

So what if people treat you differently. You are what you are. You should never be ashamed of your heritage. Concealing your identity is like saying your ashamed of your parents. Are you?
