I'm not an anti-feminist myself but it is a way of thinking about men and women that is more complicated and based on more sophisticated thinking than most people realize.

Anti-Feminists reject the entire idea of equality of rights (for everyone) that are bestowed on people by the state. People have deserts which are connected with their role in a specific community not a state.

The state is viewed as systematically destroying civil society by creating the fiction that rights derive from the state. Feminism does hold that rights flow from the state and that the state bestows equality.

Thus, anti-feminists believe women have a role in civil society that is highly valuable as well as being appropriate and this role centers on the family. It does not necessarily mean that women should be subordinate to their husbands.

Its one of those ideas its hard to explain in a few minutes and limited words.

Hope this helps...

particular. There are women who, have self belief women and adult males are equivalent and have self belief that girls have a genuine to be a homemaker. it type of feels that if a woman has the organic desire to stay residing house and elevate her little ones they seem at you like you're lazy and stupid or brainwashed by skill of a male ruled society. a woman who's a homemaker has a significant interest and that's raising little ones to develop into stable adults and contributors of society. I actual have 2 ranges, and made very stable money for myself whilst i replaced into single. whether, as quickly as I had a toddler, I felt the organic urge to be residing house with my toddler....to guard her and coach her. i'm getting alot of crap from different women, which particularly suprises me, whilst the 1st question they ask now that my daughter is 9 months is Are you working yet?, and whilst my answer is not any, they act very much stunned or make some rude remark. different anti-feminists don't think in abortions and girls being interior the militia.

Feminism is not just rights dealing with women, its on a variety of topics dealing with sexuality, the environment, racism, gender etc. etc. etc. the list goes on forever. I mean men can be feminists by facing topics about the enviroment etc. So to be an anti feminist i would say you would have to be a white male because they are at the top of the social ranking and they would be against all movement to make the world a better place basically.

Anti-feminism, contrary to popular belief, is NOT hatred of women. It is an ideology based on the "traditional" roles of women being wives and caregivers for children. People who are anti-feminist believe a woman's place is in the home taking care of the house, raising the children, and taking care of her husband. They also believe that women are the "weaker" (physically) but "fairer" sex and are to be treated differently than men -- like holding a door for a woman, opening a car door for a woman, pulling a chair out at the table for a woman, standing up when a woman leaves the table or returns, a husband being responsible for providing for his wife, etc. And like the very radical feminists who hate men, anti-feminists hate the radical feminists and demean them in all sorts of ways (calling them bull-dykes and saying they suffer from penis envy, etc.)

I do not think that housewives are leeches.

I, as an anti-feminist, believe in equal opportunity. I also know that men and women are wired differently, so I do not translate underrepresentation of women in any given field as "discrimination."

I do not buy into the lie that gender roles are social constructs.

I think it's hypocritical to scream about human rights and violate the rights of unborn humans.

I think women should be feminine and not try to act like "one of the boys."

I believe that men and women each have their own roles in society, and that one isn't better than the other.

from a different standpoint:

I'm all for equality and women's right

I'm anti- the psycho, insane feminists who wish to enslave men and reverse history's unfair gender roles

that could be a version of anti-feminism

I think my uncle's wife would be considered a anti-fem. She was raised in a place and time when a woman worked at home, raised her children, and I hear her always state that we wouldn't have to work so hard if those women that wanted to work outside of the home would have kept it to themselves. I can understand that we might not need two incomes because inflation wouldn't have gone up so fast, and I feel it when we look for our dream home and nut cases want half a million for something I see is only worth 150. I am lucky to be a stay at home mom, and I see the stigma from women who have to work, and I have to say they made their choice and I made mine.

They stand for the man working, the wife staying home. Men are doctors, women are nurses. Men are pilots, women are stewardesses. Men open the doors, pay for the date, etc. This is anti-feminism.

They like the fact that they can receive free hand outs, doors opened for them etc. and see feminism as a means to ruin chivalry. Personally, I would love it if women and men were treated exactly equal.

I am an anti-feminist, I would also describe myself politically as a socialist.

I really disagree that anti-feminists are those who hate women and don't believe in equality. Equality applies to everyone, not just women. And equality means equal, not 'special'. I don't believe that women 'should be in the home', women can be wherever they want to be. My anti-feminism is based on the fact that women have every right possible, and yet still are claimed to be 'oppressed'

I'm an anti-feminist because I believe that people should all have the same rights, regardless of gender. Feminism deals only with the rights of women, often to the detriment of men.

For example, in a domestic violence case the man is automatically guilty, the police are told to arrest the male always, even if he calls the police. This is despite the fact that women abuse their partners JUST AS MUCH as men do. (see source)

I also disagree with the feminist conspiracy theory of 'the patriarchy'. I fail to see how a man working his entire life to provide for his wife and children is 'oppressing' them.

Divorce laws are a joke. The father must pay child support for fear of going to jail. But he can only see the child he raised on his ex's discretion. If he cannot see his kids, the courts will do nothing.

Men's human rights are also under threat. Now, a man must prove that a woman gave consent to sex at a trial. He is GUILTY until proven INNOCENT of rape. This is a violation of the most basic of human rights, and must not be tolerated.

I disagree that violence against women is any worse than violence agaisnt men. Men are the victims of 75% of all violent crimes, and 80% of all murders. But there are laws against 'violence against women' which give harsher penalties than the same crime against a man. Women are also given roughly half the prison sentence as men for commiting the same crimes.

I oppose the constant male demonisation in the media. In NSPCC adverts, the abusers are always men, or two parents, never mothers. Despite the fact that women commit over 70% of child abuse. The steriotype than men are abusers is so ingrained in our society that a charity won't violate it for fear of losing donations.

I'm totally opposed to the 'all men are potential rapists/batterers' idea, as well. The myth that one in four women has been raped was a complete lie designed to demonise men (see source). And despite women commiting most child abuse (72%) and equal amounts of spousal abuse, men are always shown as the agressors, and women/children as the victims.

I don't like the myths such as the 'wage gap' spread by feminists so commonly. IT IS ILLEGAL to pay a man more for the same job. Men earn more because they work more hours, more years, in harder jobs than women.

I don't love/hate traditional roles. But I believe people should have the choice and liberty to do as they wish. Women should not be demonised for raising children. And men should be demonised for supporting their families. I was not raised in a 'tradtional' household, my mother kept her name at marriage, she works full time.

Sorry about all the apostrophies i used there :P. But that's just a summary of what my opinions are based upon. I hope I help to clear up any misconceptions some people may hold.

Callum, who loves equality, hates feminism. (though maybe slightly too militantly :P)

To Babyaga:
You did not pick that statistic at random. Because every other statistic in this peice is backed up in the source links, which you have undoubtably not read.
I noticed how you highlighted that comment about divorce claims. You're right, I can't back it up. It was told to me by my uncle who is a divorce lawyer. And I was refering to child custody. Please don't try and pick apart my whole argument on tiny specifics.

Every other statistic in this piece is genuine, so please don't try and discredit me as a woman hating bastard.
