Wrestling is planned. It's like a play; there are storylines, heroes, villains, etc. Behind the scenes, you have people called bookers who plan each match and develop the wrestlers' characters. They use promos, gimmicks, angles, etc. to help make the wrestlers more enjoyable to the audience. It's not called sports entertainment for nothing.

In the actual ring, many of the moves are held back. The punches, for example, are rarely full force or even accurate. All of the high risk off-the-top-turnbuckle flying moves are calculated so that the wrestlers land on each other with minimum impact. Even the blood is semi-fake; when the cameras are turned, the wrestlers use hidden blades to cut open gashes. So yes, wrestling is fake. But it's still performed with the risks that we all know to be true.

This is no opinion, it is fact. IT IS FAKE. you hit some ole boy with a chair and he will be out like a light or crippled. He won't be able to get back up and win a match, its common knowledge wrestling is fake, and it really shows the stupidity of much of the world for believing any of that could be real. I mean people sue fast food restaurants because they made them fat, you really think people would perform these wrestling matches if they were real in the world we live in today. It would be a lawsuit waiting to happen.

well I think that the kicking and punching is fake(duhh)and some of the moves are fake like mabe the tombstone piledriver.but I think when it comes to a pay per view the wrestling is real because who would want to watch fake wrestling for 50 bucks

Nobody who watches wrestling thinks it's 'real' anymore, just as people who watch movies don't think that aliens are actually attacking earth or that somehow Charlie Sheen's dad is president. These same people also know that the ending is predetermined. They know that when Rocky steps into the ring, the outcome was known before filming even began. There are some people don't believe that wresting fans are capable of making this distinction. We are. We suspend our disbelief, just like people watching plays, movies, television, radio dramas, magicians, and fireworks.

It is true that in the past they did choreograph it, but now they do not. They know who will win before hand. But I do have to say that getting hit with a steel chair or thrown off a cage is very real indeed. Or how about losing part of your ear in a match or your teeth coming out of your lip? thats not fake.

According to Sting(the wrestler), the outcome of the wrestling match is already determined; however, all the pain and everything that you see during the fight is real. Wrestlers do have to go to a training school to minimize the risk of injury, but there are still times when it happens. For instance, when Yokozuna body slammed Macho Man Randy Savage and he was spewing bile, or if they slap someone's leg and he lands on his groin on the pole. All of that stuff is "very real, and very painful," its just that the winner is pre-selected.

pro-wrestling is coreographed and the moves are practiced to forbid injuries...however injuries do occur and the moves are no picnic. a lot of guys in the business are out to hurt you. the punches are usually held back so theres still contact without actually knocking the guy out but some wrestlers may actually beat the sh** out of you if you don't show respect and are new to the business.

**((The only thing fake about wrestling is the scripts and the ti*s))**

WWE is fake, It is just entertainment, not real wrestling.
Real wrestling is in the Olympics, or in highschool gyms.
