I've heard this as well, however, IMAX should be fine. I know pleanty of ppl who have been to rock concerts while pregnant. The baby is in fluid and the sound is Verrrry muffled to him/her. If you want to feel extra safe you could put a blanket over your tummy- it will muffle the sound a little more. I was told to be careful with putting headphones on your belly. That's directly to your body & so, louder to the baby whose still forming ears do not need that stimulation. If you are really worried, you may want to ask your doctor. I know I call mine fore all kinds of questions. Good luck to you & your new baby!!

it will not hurt your baby. It's not like it's constantly loud like that around the baby all the time. The doctor will tell you an occasional concert will not hurt your baby. Go to the imax, have a good time and don't worry.

That is not true at all. The baby is in water so the sound is muffled. The only problem you might have is to get up during the movie a couple times to go to the bathroom, and you will miss out on some of the movie! Have fun!

Recent studies show that REGULAR exposure to excessive noise during pregnancy may cause hearing loss in the unborn and may be associated with a high risk of prematurity or intrauterine growth retardation and low birthweight. Avoid listening to extremely loud music on a regular basis and attending rock concerts frequently. A one time thing is not going to hurt but if you did this frequently, it would be cause for concern.

No, you'll be ok, I went to a club that had a live band with my mom (she's a groupie) when I was 8 months pregnant, we were right by the band the entire time they played and it was LOUD, and my now 5 month old is perfect.

It will not hurt your baby! but they can feel the vibrations, and might squirm around a bit more.

Its fine. The worst that will happen is the baby will "jump" from being startled.
