We had a bunny that chewed the carpet. Spanking usually doesn't work on rabbits. We now keep a tarp on the floor in the bunnies' area and provide them with grass mats which are edible. Also if the bunny prefers one area, spray it with bitter apple spray which you can get at any pet supply store. Rabbits hate that smell and will try to get away from it. It is non toxic.

Is she eating it or is she making a bed with it? If she is taking it back to her cage or the spot where she sleeps, then she is more than likely making a bed, which could indicate that she is either cold, or that she could be pregnant. Go to your local pet store and get some bedding material for her. If she is indeed eating the carpet, you should close off that room and keep her on a wood or tiled floor, because the fibers in the carpet are not good for the bunny and cannot be digested by the bunny's stomach, which can become fatal.

Do not spank your bunny, they wont understand. You should never hit a child or a pet.
Try putting bedding in her cage, that may be what she is after and give her things of all different textures to chew on.

Rabbits teeth grow.....they chew to keep them worn down.
Eating carpet could bind her bowels up and possible kill her.
Simply keep her off the carpet.....
Rabbits do not have the intelligence of a human - spanking her is not something she understands ...infact to her it most
likely seem you are just hurting her.
She should be caged unless you are with her and can watch
what she is doing......this for for her safety.

well... as much as i know the teeth of rabbits are constantly growing (just like the teeth of rodents) and it has to chew on something to keep them in a normal length. i don't think that rabbits usually chew/eat wood,so the wood things are kinda useless. you should search for some "hard" food for rabbits, give it some carrots :) .

mine does this too. It's their natural inclination to dig. Spray some febreeze or perfume on her favorite area. They are very sensitive to smell. Lay down seagrass over the area.

First of all, you don't "spank" a bunny. Second, you shouldn't allow the bunny to be free all over the house (put her in a hutch)....it's unsanitary and dangerous for the bunny. Third, if you don't know how to care for an animal, you shouldn't have one.

Probably need to exercise it's jaw, I had a cat that ate wool, for years didn't know what to do, then found out it needed it's jaw exercised, we gave it dry (crunchy) cat food, try some crunchy snacks for her.

Because it is stupid like you. Rabbits are not meant to be pets, they are meant to boiled in a stew and eaten.
