My local mb dealer has said that the company i work for has used the incorrect oil in the car i drive ,and also overfilled the engine.
This has caused the cat to fail,hence a 2 k invoice not covered under warranty,
My question is ,,,,what is the minumum amount and maxmum amount of oil to put in the car,,,,?? thank u very much

normally the two marks on the dipstick low and high is normally about half a litre.
if it was a garage who done the oil change its there responsibility to pay for the damage to your cat.
i would seek legal advice.

having no dipstick on your car you have to rely on the computer, this should of told you there was to much oil in the engine, and if it gets low it will tell you to add 1 2 or 3 litres, personally i don't think over filling the oil would cause the cat to fail,

garages have wall charts and auto data books which give precise capacities of oil requirements for all vehicles at their disposal. how without analysis & measuring the oil drained from the sump can the main agent know (what type and how much oil was used) the other garage may use identical oil. if old oil unavailable as evidence they are unable to verify their claim. contact institute of diag eng

Hi

The minimum and maximum levels are marked very clearly on the dipstick and the average from empty is around 4 litres of oil.

i would say around 41/2 to 5 quarts.just put in 3 and start it and then shut it off and check it.finish filling it,until its full.
