I'd say it helps to keep it going. I have nothing against Anna Nicole Smith personally, and I find her death sad, but frankly the fact that it dominated the news for weeks on end is pathetic as far as I'm concerned, and a tell-tale sign that network news is more interested in dealing with fluff pieces and celebrity hype than in something infinitely more important, such as this disastrous war in Iraq.

Well, I've found way too many lies in the liberal media of today. I don't believe in any one of them but I take the all things from several different sources that are the same as truth but then that's just me. I know there are all too many people who will accept anything the liberal media says and that does have an effect on the war and how people perceive it. If more people looked at the news like I do, there'd be a lot less lies told about everything.

Considering that much of the media is more concerned with reporting the latest Anna Nicole Smith gossip rather than exposing the truth about Iraq, I'd say, yes, our incompetent media plays a significant role.

Check out Oliver North's reports from Iraq and you will get a real insight on what' happening over there!! Geraldo even has some decent reports!!! Mostly, the rest of the Hacks do their biased reports from their bunkers deep inside their offices in the good old USA!! By the way the New York Times is a piece of crap and should only be used for collecting dog ****

The media has an obligation to seek the truth from our elected officials. If Bush wants to stand up and say "things are getting better in Iraq" then it is their job to press him for PROOF rather than acting as a stenographer for white house propaganda. The media is the voice of the people, they get to ask the questions WE don't. If the media doesn't do their job, then americans cannot make informed decisions about our elected public servants.

The media plays directly into policy and stated plans of AL Qada. If they can keep a steady firm beat of " If it Bleeds it leads" it will demoralize the US, thus it matches Al Qada media plan or pro long engagement, to play to the media appetite for ratings and despair stories, the US will pull out in Defeat like Somalia.

Most people know the media is full of mistakes and lies but some believe what they read. I am afraid too many people in Congress trust the media.

They've encouraged the enemy greatly. They keep a scoreboard (our troops deaths.) I'd say the fact that al queda is still fighting is due to the Rah Rah they recieve on the nightly new networks here.

It has everything to do with the entire war, they dictate if people are going to be for or against it and since they are 78% liberal they are going to be against it.
