the southeast.
This would surely ease traffic congestion into the bargain amoungst other benefits for all ???

No, No, No, We up North don't want those silly people up here. Let London and the home counties have all the traffic jams and bad housing.

Spreading government out over a country would spread the wealth but you may be assured it would cost you a lot more in taxes. There used to be a better reason for centering a governing capital ---security. Even thats not valid any more . Canada's Parliament sits in Ottawa , at the border between engish speaking Canadians and French. It's also accross the river from the US of A. The American's Government is on the shore. No matter where government is situated, thake my advice. Leave them there. The closer you are to them, the more trouble it will be for you . IT JUST AIN"T WORTH IT.

London is the capital. It was founded in the South East, so it cant be helped. Dont you think that parliament should be located in the most important city in England as well as Europe.
