Characters in Hamlet opinions of Polonius?

I have to do an English project where I come up with other character's opinions on the character Polonius. The character's opinions are from Laertes, Ophelia, Hamlet, Gertrude and Claudius. Does anyone have any insight or a good, easy to navigate website? Thanks alot.

As to Gertrude and Claudius: The opinion of neither is explicitly stated. Gertrude doesn't talk of Polonius or with Polonius much. Claudius uses him as councillor, however an explicit opinion on him can't be taken out of the text.

Laertes and Ophelia are loving children, and Ophelia is obedient save her love for Hamlet. But she tries to satisfy her father. Laertes wants to take revenge for both the death of his sister and his father, so he seems to be affectionate of him, and to hold him in high esteem.

Hamlet doesn't think much of Polonius. He despises him and makes fun of him, when ever he is able to.

I'd only say that you're going to have to be a little bit creative on this one. If you look closely at the play, you'll see that NONE of the characters are actually going to speak their "opinions" of Polonius' character. You'll have to INFER how they feel about him from the way they interact with him.

Certainly, his children -- Laertes and Ophelia -- don't ever speak ABOUT him. Hamlet obviously thinks he's a fool, and Claudius probably does, too.

But, you'll have to read between the lines.
