You don't necessarily have to have a "Work Experience" section in your resume. You can simply put "Experience". This can include anything such as projects you worked on in school, community service, being an officer in an organization. Just be sure if you list something that it actually shows something that you contributed to the organization. I'll give you an example I used in my resume (not in the correct format of course but just to give you an idea of where to start):

Vice President, Habitat for Humanity, January 2007-Present
U of A, Tuscaloosa AL
plan and organize fundraisers
coordinate recruitment event
assist other officers as needed

It's not a paying job, but it's EXPERIENCE!

If you're president of a club and actually did something (like organized film viewings or brought over a holocaust survivor to give a talk), that's very good on a CV.

Put I wouldn't put it anywhere for paid work experience. For that, you might put the Saturday job you had at McDonald's or Woolworth's.

I put self employed work I did, but only because it was a substantial amount of my time and I have something to show for it. I put down clubs I helped organize and where I did stuff, but nothing where I just came to a few meetings and a pub quiz.

If you worked on something regularly (over eight hours a week for at least one semester) put it. If it was hit and miss, I'd skip it.

College or High School?

If you are an intern, list your intern position. If you belong to a club, list your title whether you're merely a active member or an officer. (Make sure you put active in front of member, they don't want people who affiliate but do nothing.)
