Why don't people just come up to me and get to know the real me instead of defining me by the rumors they hear?

I'm lonely. I'm suffering from depression, but people think that I am a psychopath. Tears.

Look... i've learnet, that one should NOT judge ANYONE!! PERIOD!!!
but, we- humans, no matter how much we try, still judge and get affected by other people's judgement.
as i matured, i realized that one is always better off, getting to know somebody personally, b4 making judgements, sometimes the people that were bad to everyone else, turnout to be great to somebody else (they just haven't found someone to adore), kind of like: "one man's trash, is another one's treasure".
I also think, that if more than 4 people say bad things about someone, it could be somewhat true (unless it's a conspiracy).

Think for a sec: in your own experience, no matter how much you don't want to beleive a rumor or a judgement, our human protective mechanizm gets cautioned.

So, unfortunatelly, even the most open minded people will get a little cautious.

Don't worry about anything, if someone REALLY want's get to know you, they will approach you and will try to get to know you, and then they will make their opinion about you.
So, if someone doesn't feel you are special enough to learn about, before listening to somebody's rumors, they are not worth being with or around you.

P.S. there is a lot of jelous humans around, don't shape yourself around them, be confident, and the right people will sourrond you.

No one should ever judge another person by their social status, looks, health etc. I do not think that people should judge by rumors or by any other source whatsoever. I would never judge anyone of anything , if I have heard rumors about the person or not . I do not know when I may become the ONE in that persons shoes walking. To me this is like making a decision on a food , that I have never tried. You do not know if you like the food until you taste it.

Quite frankly, I try to stay out of situations where I hear gossip and I try not to be a part of any of it if it does happen. Jesus met the worst kinds of people when He walked this earth and didn't care what others told Him about someone. The woman the elders caught in adultery was brought before Him and they asked if she should be stoned to death (I also would like to know where was the man she was caught with?). After writing in the sand, they left one by one leaving her behind. I think He was writing their sins before each one, but I can't prove it. Anyway, at the end, He asked where her accussers were and she said that they had all left. He then looked at her and said that He didn't condemn her, she should go and sin no more. If Jesus can accept anyone and forgive them, who am I to judge them? Even if you had committed the worst crime possible, if you had asked Jesus to forgive you, then we are together partakers of His Kingdom and will be together in Heaven with Him when this world ends. He alone is the righteous Judge and if He says you are His child, then we are siblings in His family. I don't care what others may say. It is what Jesus says that counts.

It's easy for such things to color a person's view of someone they don't know.

I'll admit that I do pay attention to rumors, but try to also get to know the person somewhat myself and decide if I like them or not (rumors aside)...often rumors have some amount of truth in them, but sometimes they are completely slanderous.

It's always best not to pass judgement until we've gotten to know someone ourselves first...people who spread rumors are often guilty of similar (or worse) offenses themselves...

It truly relies upon on the rumor. some rumors can placed you in a nasty ordinary , yet there is others which have you ever like a movie well-known man or woman. i'm a sufferer of that one. i in my opinion do not persist with up with the rumors. If i like you. i like you. it may lead on into a normal communication inspite of the truth that

I personally don't believe anything I hear and only half of what I see,... but you have to understand that to some people, perception is everything. So, if someone doesn't know you personally, but has the perception that you are a horrible person because of what they've heard, then they are not worth getting to know anyway. Brush the haters off, girlie, and just know that you are fabulous! ;O)

one thing ive learned about rumors is that there is usually some truth in them.. not all rumors, but a lot i think.. i dont think they would spread as well if people didnt think that it may be true

but i dont think it affects me.. unless it was something pretty awful about the person

sorry that this is happening to you

I know that this happens a lot in workplaces, and it can be difficult to not take note of peoples warnings because in some cases they can be quite helpful in dealing with people you havent met, but I do know what you are saying, you need to develop an opinion of your own because people will act differently with different people.

I don't pay attention to what other people say. I form my own opinions about people when I meet them. The people that are misjudging you without even knowing you aren't worth your time.
