What exactly do you need to know? I have a wonderful book D'ulare's Book of Greek Mythology that makes it very easy to unerstand & interperet. It'd be easier to answer your question if I knew specifically what you were looking for. Just saying a paper on Greek mythology leaves it wide open to an enormous subject.

The Greeks were not all one homogeneous people. Their faith and worship varied from nation to nation and even city to city depending on wars, alliances, catastrophes, and bounty.
The pantheon was not a stable thing we only see it that way because we are looking back and know who the winners were in the battles. We are also looking at years and decades and centuries of interpretation and rehash.
One of my favorite tidbits is that stories about Theseus (that fought the Minotaur) were more popular than stories about Hercules in Ancient Greek and Roman times. Herc was popularized in modern times.
