What exactly is 420 ? I thought it was My Daughter's birthday and someone told me it's some sort of other kind of day ! I don't get it !

Do you know what 420 means? Several times over the past few years, HIGH TIMES has attributed "420" to a code used by the San Rafael police department. The group (the Waldos) began meeting every day at 4:20 PM after school and eventually began to use 420 as a code for marijuana so they could talk about pot in front of parents and teachers....not good. not good at all.

4/20 (date) or 4:20 (time) refers to a specific day and/or time to smoke weed (marijuana). The first I remember hearing it was when I was about 13 or 14 (about 14 years ago), when I started to smoke weed. And I was living in Long Beach, California at the time (sometimes it makes a difference WHERE a person is from as to when they first heard it around their area, etc). So anyway...I'm not even sure how it REALLY got started...there are different theories...but it's remained popular with most pot smokers throughout the years.

To be honest I have no idea but do what I did, and type in search ' the significance of 420' I just did it out of curiousity on seeing your question, I was quite surprised with what came up!!
