There's this classic rock song that I heard on the radio the other day. The guy mumbled so much that I couldn't make out alot of the lyrics, so I'm kinda stuck with finding out who did it. It has the lyrics "well I find" and "always win" in the chorus. Another line I could make out from one of the stanzas is "son you gotta grow up strong". It has some really fun guitar riffs and, like I said, the guy is kinda hard to understand. Does anyone know what it is?

"The Authority Song" by John Cougar Mellencamp

They like to get you in a compromising position They like
to get you there and smile in your face They think
they're so cute when they got you in that condition Well I think it's a total disgrace CHORUS:
I fight authority, Authority always wins I fight
authority, Authority always wins I been doing it since I
was a young kid I come out grinnin' I fight
authority, Authority always wins So I call up my
preacher I say, "Give me strength for Round 5." He
said , "You don't need no strength, you need to grow up
son."I said, "Growing up leads to growing old and then to
dying "And dying to me don't sound like all that much
fun." [CHORUS] Oh no oh no I fight
authority Authority always wins

No darlin.. not enough info. But you might try calling your radio station and asking the DJ if they remember such a song. They may be able to give you the title and group.

(Depoetic wanders away mumbling to herself...)

"...Hmmm... classic rock artist who mumbles... Bob Dylan... Tom Petty.... George Harrison...? Nah, not George Harrison...."
