This really concerns me.
I've been a supervsor in the trucking industry for a long time.
Our trucks are safe, our drivers are safe.
Accidents do occur, but US trucking co's are safety conscious and reward safe driving.
Can we say that about Mexico.??
Nu bull-- this frightens me.

I'm guessing that you mean, will tractor-trailers crossing the border from Mexico be the source of the next big terrorist attack. I'm gonna say no. The main checkpoints at our borders are the only real way to get vehicles like those through, and they're checked thoroughly. In fact, I think most, if not all, semis are quarantined for a period until their cargo clears inspection.

More likely, we'll see radical Islamists blend in with illegal aliens crossing our southern border, and then blend into society. Once here, they would identify with a sleeper cell and organize an attack using some nuclear material that is smuggled around such checkpoints -- perhaps also crossing the border in the flow of illegal immigrants. Then, that material would be translated into "dirty bombs" which could be detonated in any number of major U.S. cities. It's far from outlandish -- it's likely. Truthfully, I'm surprised that something like that hasn't already happened. Perhaps our security and intelligence units are doing more than people are giving them credit for...

There will be some cargo inspection but the trucks themselves are unsafe. This is another case of exporting US jobs. The current system works and maintains some modicum of safety on our highways. The continued coddling of Mexico is a national disgrace.

Hardly likely--they're to be inspected thoroughly at the border. So if you trust the Bush administration to follow through and do the job right, there'll be no problem. LOL
