My job involves having to rely on others to provide pertenaint information relevant to my projects. I have alot of difficulty in getting a couple of folks that I must rely on, to provide this information without several requests.
One person in particular is very obstinate about not providing the information I request for.

DRIVE THEM INSANE!

Create a new e-mail account with their name on yahoo or something and send it to each of their work e-mail address all day with random messages. You could include links about procrastination, how to be reliable, and punctual; this may straighten out the problem a bit!

Use the computers at your local library.

There should always be a time limit. You may not be the only thing that's on their desk. I bust my butt over here (thanklessly) at my company, and sometimes, it takes up to 24 hours for me to get back with someone, depending on how much crap I have on my desk.

Now, there have been times I have sent an email to my boss, and two weeks later, it's been unopened. THAT is unacceptable.

That, however, stopped when I started copying people on those emails so that I wasn't at fault when someone was dragging their feet.

I would copy your coworker's bosses, or anyone else who's been working with them if it's an email. If it's in person, they need to respond within 24 hours. 48 for email. Anything later is UNACCEPTABLE.

Also, to cover your butt, make notes of EVERYTHING. Eventually, everyone else will see that it's not you dragging their feet.

Try to remember that you are there only for a certain amount of time each day and it's just a job--don't sweat it --that's what they want you to do. Smile every time u come in contact with these butt holes and they will start to believe u know something they don't -which will drive those sort of folks bananas--and u can just sit back at the end of the day and laugh.

Not knowing whether you are their boss or just a co-worker this is a hard question to answer. If you are their boss then step up and tell them you need it asap. If they don't come through then fire them. There are all kind of people waiting to replace them. If you are just a co-worker depending on them you need to talk to the boss about them. There are always slackers around and they need to be exposed and probably the boss knows anyhow.

When you need imput to get a job done and another employee is lax in doing their part. email them with the request and copy your boss and their boss. This way there is no question why a project is delayed and who's dragging their feet. :-)

why are these people still working for you. i would exit them.
in lieu of that go to a higher authority. have you other workers that are doing the work for you put the pressure on those who are not, no one likes carrying a non-worker.
