Well depending on what kind of player you really want to be depends on your workouts. Dont forget lifting weights, and cardiovascular fitness are also things needed to be successful on the basketball court. Here is a shooting tip to become a better shooter. u need to make sure you have the proper mechanics, there isnt enough space here to share them but if u go online u can find shooting tapes and videos to show them to u, once u got the mechanics u need to start every session with form shooting, a technique used to develop rotation and spin on the ball as well as good elevation. Stand under or right in front of the basket and using your shooting hand go into the pizza hold, and practice shooting the ball one handed and letting the ball roll off your finger tips. Do this in front and on the side, then take a step back from each position. The goal is to get the ball to go in with out using the rim,or backboard. work yourself out 12 feet and then back in. Using the one hand form shot will take time but is a basic fundamental drill in improving form and mechanics. Once your done there u can 5 spot shoot from 5 feet, 10 feet, 12 feet, then 15feet , 20 feet, and then 25 feet. Start close workout and finish going back in. How many shots you take is up to u, i recommend making 500 shots aday, not taking 500, but making 500. larry bird used to go out and shoot but all he ever counted was the ones he made nothing but net on. start slow and easy and never over do the workouts, when tired shoot past it a little but rest is also important in muscle memory activities such as shooting. Hope this helps somewhat.

Since you're left-handed, practice lay-ups with your right hand; practice dribbling the length of the court - several times in a row - with your right hand - and give yourself a time limit which gradually gets smaller. Practice free throws endlessly - I know of a young man who shot 200 free throws a day for a whole year - as well as 200 jump shots a day. Do you have that kind of time? Are you willing to put forth that kind of effort? The answer is up to you!

1. get out cones and start dribbling around them
2. blind man dribble. blind fold yourself or close your eyes and dribble in place.
3. practive figure eights and dribbling around your legs.
4. practice layups, free throws, and any shot around the paint (key). practice shots that you'll take in a game
5. do monkey jumps so you can jump higher
6. RUN! this helps you get in shape and learn to move your feet.
7. sit on the wall for a minuet or two. (its like sitting in a chair on the wall without the chair. make sure your legs are a 90 degree angle and your back is stright)
8. learn to use your hips to box out! you can do this with siblings or your dad (doing this with a female adult might not be a good idea). be the #1 rebounder on your team.
9. dribble up and down your ally or front sidewalk
10. work on you shot. make sure your following through and flixing you wrist (wave the ball goodbye)
11. get used to makeing layups with one hand.
12. make crispt passes. practice bounce and chest passes, baseball throw, inbounding passes and steping around someone to pass
-do all of this with both hands! your weak hand should be doing double for what your doing with your strong hand
-when you play with your team, dont get anyone down and dont beat yourself up if you "did something wrong".
-always be positive, if a team member is beating them self up for "doing something wrong" make sure you tell them to forget about it and keep playing the game
-when playing, dont give any crap to the refs, whatever they say goes.
you take one fowl per quarter
- NEVER GIVE UP!
- last but not least MAKE SURE YOUR HAVING FUN! cuz that's what its all about!

keep shooting from all angles, and all distances.
You WILL get into NBA if you are determined.
P.S. Hit the court right now, and don't sit at the computer!
