Need help starting my 2002 Chevrolet 2500?
Duramax Diesel 2002 Chevrolet 2500

Started the truck this morning, ran for two minutes then died. Has power, turns over and is not giving me any computer codes. No dead fuses either.

A red wire ontop the fuel filter had come undone so I plugged back in. Still won't run.

I primed the and drained the fuel filter a couple times and it is getting fuel.

I have a feeling that the truck won't run because of something to do with the Fuel Filter sensor, an ideas?

That red wire is only for the fuel heater.will not cause a no start.try pumping the primer pump on top of the fuel flter hsg. but first open the bleed screw, which is black plastic also located on the top.this will eliminate any trapped air that might have entered the fuel intake system.if the pump does not get firmer and harder to push, then you have a leak in the fuel supply lines or the ck valves in the fuel filter hsg or stuck open. Still no start have it scanned to ck fuel pressure while cranking.it should be close to 5000 lbs

Take the return line loose at the connection on the drivers side rear of teh engine. Put the end of the line (engine side) into a bottle. Crank th engine over. If it dosn't start and fuel is filling up the bottle, then you have bad injectors and they are spilling fuel in to the return.

It's covered by warranty up to 200.000 miles!

Normal fuel rate at idle for automatic transmissions is 10-13MM3 and for manual transmissions, 8-11MM3. If low fuel rate is found:
Check engine oil level.
Check crank case for high pressure, If high crank case pressure is found, verify CDRV valve or hoses not restricted.
Check for oil leakage past the turbocharger seals,

YOU said you drained the fuel filter and its getting fuel, change the fuel filter, it sounds like it's a colapsed fuel filter, just because your getting fuel to filter it may not be getting to injectors, also try to crack open fuel lines to injectors one at a time and crank ingine over to make sure you are getting fuel to injectors and air out of lines.if you do this it should run.also check to make sure your getting power to pump solinoid.
