The news said 91% of email is spam. I set my options for yahoo email in the spam protection section and turn spamguard on and I set it to "Immediately delete these messages upon receipt. (Note: If you choose this option, you will not be able to review the messages before they are deleted.)" It won't catch everything, but most spam. But see more below!

The trick with spam is never ever, never ever ever give out your main email address!!! Except to people you trust 100% or companies that you have spent a bundle (like your pc maker). I don't even trust my mother's pc.
IMPORTANT > don't subscribe to any emails for software updates or newsletters from anyone. You can always check every three months for an update from them (or your PC maker) and PC Makers will usually send them to you anyway if it is critical.
(Except Microsoft here I allow updates for security reasons and I allow my Anti-Virus to auto update, but I don't subscribe to any of my anti-virus news letters)
NEXT MOST IMPORTANT
then I have a second (2nd) email address I use for all those "must have an email to get in" or "download that ringtone enter your email" or sign up for yahoo or hotmail or adobe, myspace, other networking sites, real player, quicktime, gamehouse, especially lyric sites, and music sites, etc, and submit that second email address to them. Then I use that second email to activate the account and to have a place for the account to send emails if I forget the password. then once a month or so I go into the account and delete all the email from that account - it's also to keep the account active. This second account becomes just a spam magnet account, and spam guard or similar product on hotmail does most of the trick.

Magic! My main email stays almost 100% without spam!

HOW TO BEGIN:
If your already infested with spam, then: create a new email address and call that one your main email and just update your email with your computer maker, microsoft (or apple if your as mac), and your Anti-Virus service, and nobody else - except any other 100% safe people.
You can keep the old infested email you have as your junk email, but it may be months until you notice the change.

One area I almost missed.
Spammers now try and send mail with your email address as both the sender and receiver, passing most blocks. Example from joes-email@yahoo.com sending to joes-email@yahoo.com You need to add a filter to yahoo or hotmail sending anything FROM your email address to trash. It blocks your being able to send stuff to yourself, but that is what your spam free main email address is for.

Spammer also use BCC which stands for blind carbon copy and that way they send it to your email address and you don't even see you address on the email. You will get an email addressed to joe-nobody@yahoo.com and wonder who is that even the CC line is blank.
You need to create another filter to allow only email addressed directly: to/CC your-email@yahoo.com else junk it.

Good luck.

Is your profile set to display your email? If so, turn it off.

That'll help in the future. As for now, flag them as SPAM.

USUALLY AT THE BOTTOM OF THOSE EMAILS THERE IS A PLACE TO UNSUBSCRIBE FROM THEM. YOU COULD ALSO CLICK IN THE BOX NEXT TO IT AND THEN CLICK SPAM. THAT WILL PUT IT ON YOUR BLOCKED ADDRESS LIST. I HOPE THIS WILL HELP YOU GET RID OF THEM. I GET QUITE A FEW MYSELF AND I DON'T OPEN THEM.IF I DO IT'S TO FIND THEIR UNSUBSCRIBE AT THE BOTTOM OF IT.

potential to fly. i'm going to in basic terms goof around, scare people, even thieve (rofl), reason a huge ruckus, get caught, get experimented on, and be the commencing place of the subsequent technology of the flying bastards. :3

keep spamming it till the stupid emails realize you don't want them righting you or the hard way e-mail them back saying i don't want you to write to me again. but to me spamming it is easier.
