Start with www.mousesavers.com It is probably the best online guide in getting value for your money. Know what you want to do, then go to disneyworld.disney.go.com to see the official list price. Then contact a travel agent you trust and compare prices. The AAA association offers discounts too. You could also try www.affordabledisney.com. A good all-around site is www.allearsnet.com or www.wdwinfo.com.
You need to do some research. Do you want to stay inside WDW? Do you want a hotel or condo or a house rental? How long are you staying. Will you have a car or are you relying on bus service. Will you go just to Disney or do you want to go to other attractions? Ticket prices at Disney vary with the length of your stay. The more days you buy. the "cost per day" declines rapidly. Do you want the food plan? Do you want to attend a character meal? Do you want to golf, horseback riding, parasailing, fishing? Do you want to go to a waterpark?

go to your nearest wdw store in the mall and buy the 2007 unofficial guide to wdw...it is worth it there are all kinds of good info in it like which days of the week are best for lower attendance at which parks and what rides and restrictions are at which parks and just all kinds of useful info..I will never use a travel agency again its much cheaper and alot more fun to do the planning yourself...we went in 2001 there were 6 of us we stayed 8 nights and including a limo to the airport and all spending monies and everything we spent $5000 I booked that trip myself...flight i did right through the airline hotel through expedia..bought the wdw tickets from the disney store before we left and bought the universal tickets online before going...5 of us went back in 2005 and didnt have as much $ to play with so didnt do as much or stay as long..

planning it just through the Disney website is really easy and the packages are affordable. You can even purchase the airline tickets in the package! It is the best place to find out about which hotel in the park to stay in, and that is really the best option if you are there for multiple days.
