I recently remodeled my kitchen, and in the idea of being modern and stylish I purchased a black stove. I cook quite a bit and cannot seem to keep it clean... any suggestions?

They sell the glass stove top cleaner at the grocery store and home improvement places like Lowes or Home Depot. It's a white chalky looking paste (kind of like Soft Scrub) and you squeeze a little out of the bottle onto the stove top and then use a clean, dry towel (paper towels work for me), and swirl it around in a circular motion until the surface looks completely cloudy. Then get another clean paper towel and wipe it all off...Good as new. And if you have something cooked on, just use a little more pressure and maybe go over it a couple of times. I've had mine black glass top for close to 4 years and it looks brand new.

Is this glass? If so, the appliance store has a polish type cleaner with special abrasives that clean burnt on residue without scratching the surface. Our stove has a black to dark red glass top, and is 8 years old and it looks brand new still.

You need so little of this stuff that I'm afraid I don't recall the name as we're still using the same bottle they gave us!

Windex has been giving me problems lately, I am avoiding using it. I too bought a black stove (with stainless) and regret it because it's so hard to clean and every trace of dust is so visible! I have just decided that I have to do it every other day or so with a soapy cloth and then dry it with a clean dry dishtowel. Stinks, doesn't it, to buy something so nice looking and then you are sorry. Be careful what you wish for you just might get it! lol

Any cleaner should work grease cutting Dawn 409 its the towel u are using that has to change micro towels in car stuff they are good. I used to be able to find the paper towels that did not leave fuzzies by Bounty but cannot find. Bar towels are good or cotton diapers. After thru using them wash them in mild soap and water no fabric softners next time you use them they will work other wise they pick up fabric softners and dont work streak

I also have a black stove . I wash it with Dawn and water. Then, after it is rinsed and dried, I go over it with white vinegar to make it shine.

Try using Windex or something similar! The ammonia in it will clean your stove really well. Other cleaners make leave streaks.

Formula 409 Degreaser. Spray it on, let it sit for a few minutes, then rinse it off. The stuff is awesome!
