My baby is about 2.5 months old...I would like to go visit my family in California (which is a 2 hr. flight), but I'm not sure if my baby is old enough. Should I go...or wait til he's about 3 months? Thanks for your help and please share your experiences with me.

one thing i learned with my kids... the younger they are- the easier they are to travel with! 2 1/2 months old is like the perfect age- they'll probably sleep the entire time! Just make sure you bring a pacifier or plan on breastfeeding or using a bottle during the flight- having them suck on something during the flight will help with pressure so their ears don't pop! Good luck and have fun!

Any age is safe. Be sure to offer a pacifier, or if you are nursing, bring a thin blanket for coverage so that you can nurse to relieve any pressure during take off or landing.
With number one I was on a 4 hour flight at the age of 3 months, and with number two I was on a 6 hour flight at the age 4 months.

I flew with my son when he was 3 months old and had no problems. I just used his carrier with the base and strapped it into the airplane seat like I would in a car. I did take him out once we were in the air, to hold him and play. I gave him a bottle at take-off and landing so that the swallowing would help his ears, and we had a great time! One thing I would suggest is make sure you change your baby's diaper right before you get on the plane, because the airplane bathroom, although it has a changing table, is way too small to comfortably change a diaper in.

I was only 3 months old the first time I was on a plane. It was a 2 hour trip to Florida. My mom just made sure that I was awake a while before we took off so that I slept the whole way there.

There's no reason that he can't fly. The biggest issue would be germs. I would just keep him in a blanket so people know not to touch him. Give him a bottle or pacifier during take off and landing so his ears won't hurt.

Sorry I went to webmd and baby.com and I can't find anything but the very best thing you could do it ask your baby's doctor. He would know the correct answer. Be safe.

he should be fine, but ask your doctor to be certain. I was thinking about taking my new born to new york in a car 12 hour drive, I am not sure how that will work though.

I regularly took my babies to Kauai when I lived on oahu, and I took my three month old to Hawaii from NC. They were all fine and seemed to enjoy it.

well, they usually sprout wings at 2 months, to that is when you should teach them how to fly

start by dangling them off the balcony or the roof like Michael Jackson did, and then telling him/her to remember to flap the wings hard before taking off, and not after. Then, let go, and see if he or she makes it.
