I need to know before I buy cause i hear that ford made alot of their parts interchangable.Please only answer if your a mechanic or have done this before because I need a detailed answer if i have to buy any thing to "convert" the bigger tranny..Also if you have a transmission or a "part" truck 4 sale leave me some contact info and I will be sure to be in contact with you..Thanks for any help from anyone who can shed some light on my problem.

Here's the real deal, will that 4 cyl transmission handle the 6 power. If it is the same then the bell housing of the tranny needs to be adapted or changed to a 6. you will also need to get a PCM (computer from a 6 or it won't start.
There is a lot of work to retro an engine but is is possible. and since you are replacing a standard motor to one that was an option it should fit fine. You might go to a junk yard and look at the two and snap a couple of pictures as some under hood devices change location.
Exhaust will have to be replaced and if you change the transmission then the drive line will need to be replaced...
That is about as detailed as I can get. As this is going to be an ongoing project.

Unfortunately, they will not interchange. They are totally different. All of the electronics in them are different and they will not bolt up.
