What do you guys think of genetically altering humans before being born so that they are born with certain traits such as blue eyes, and also if they are meant to have diseases they remove them before they are born. That gene no longer exists in the person and his offspring will not be born with such diseases or diabillities.

This has been done already by Nazi Germany. They created like 13 blonde-hair, blue-eyed people who have some special traits.

Getting rid of the disease genes may be good if it is tested properly with no side-effects, such as carrying some weird trait into the next generation.

I think its an intriguing concept, but the fundamental flaw is that there is always a counter balance to the positive. If you perfect the body, then something else has to give. Fact of nature and life. It is better and more difficult to let nature take its course. Or we will all look the same and that makes for the most boring yearbook EVER.

yeah...I know I'm going to sound close minded and afraid of progress but I am totally against genetically altered human beings, before or after.
Is there no sanction for ones natural state?
Human suffering is a natural part of life....it helps build character, it's one of the tenants of mankind, it's who we are.
This altering thing....it reminds me to much of the Si-Fi channel. We must not forget the laws of Mother nature.

As long as it's science, i'm all for it. But it shouldn't be used in a mainstream way. I don't think think Darwin would be okay with that...it messes up the evolution and it's quite messed up already.
