If you still have the old Muriatic Acid, yes its probably too old. But may be a bit harsh for this, so I wouldn't buy new just yet.

Clorox makes a sprayable cleaner with bleach for use on tub/tile surfaces. Or just use some of your laundry bleach and an old toothbrush (wear old clothes).

Once you get it as clean as you like you can get grout sealer at most home supply stores. Follow the directions and this will minimize the ability for stains and mold to get a foothold again.

Of course the best way is a professional like Stanley Steemer. A little pricey but worth it. My own home solution is a combination of bleach and a cleanser, like Ajax powder. It works wonders. Using a 1 to 4 part ration on the bleach (1) and water (4), I then use a scrub brush using bleach water along with the cleanser. Of course it is tedious and time consuming.

I think it was Muratic Acid and I don't know if it's diluted now or not.
