my friend has had a number of fake profiles posted on the web. What chance does she have of the company taking any legal action against the party involved? the profiles have been deleted

My brother had a false profile, he thought that nothing could happen. Yes we have the right to identity, still not to fake identity, so you can't protect yourself like that. In conclusion her profile will be deleted, and maybe IP banned.

Nothing. If they are profiles that are just like email, chat rooms etc. there is no way that they can know who it was. She can easily argue that someone went into her computer and created a fake profile (if they trace the ip).
