Your battery has an internal short in it. Replace the battery.
If it is very cold where you live, the battery may be frozen. DO NOT JUMP A FROZEN BATTERY...IT WILL EXPLODE!!
good luck........

Sounds like a bad battery. It could be a short to ground draining the battery, but one that bad could cause a fire with a charged battery. Try this. Charge or replace battery. To check for a drain or short, before putting the cables on the battery, put the pos+ cable on, then touch the other cable carefully to the neg- terminal. The computer will cause a tiny spark, which should by OK, but a big spark shows that something is not right and must be fixed. It could be a bad cable, too, not getting enough contact to move power. Make sure the red cable goes to the positive+ side of batt. I've seen them be hooked up backwards which rapidly discharges the battery to plumb dead. Did this start happening all at once or over time? Have you had a stereo installed recently? A screw could have been run into the wiring causing a short.

Heres what you do. Sounds like you either have a battery or a alternater problem. Jump your car and get it running. While its running take the positive cable(the red one) and disconnect it from the battery, don't worry it won't shock you. If you disconnect the battery and the car dies that means you need a new alternater. If the car does not die that means your battery is bad.
Here's how it works, the battery is used for starting the car, once the car is started the alternater takes over, while the car is running the alternater charges the battery and keeps it charged, if the alternater is bad the battery wont keep a charge, because its making up for what the alternater isnt doing and the battery is keeping the car running.

if you have lights and radio it could be your starter. ive been through four starters. each time it would just click. try getting under the van and tap on the starter. if it starts after you tap it you then know that it was your starter. tapping it is only a temporary fix. it may start 10 times after that or it may only start once. that depends on how bad your starter is.
