Please help me understand how to finish downloading things from the web to sims 2 game? I have university, nightlife, open for business, glamour stuff, pets, and the original game.

How do I ensure that my downloads are saved in the right folder? I know they go in my documents/EA games/the sims 2, but after that how do you know which file to save things in? Also, please tell me how can I unzip the files?

if you want the easy way to do it and don't care if your downloads folder is organized, use the Sims File Maid 2

First of all you need to download winzip and/or winrar. There are free versions of these online, just do a search. These will unzip the files for you so that your game can recognise them.
Second, check to see if you have a downloads folder. It should be in Documents/Ea Games/Sims 2. If you do not have one then just create one with a capital D.
Third, when you download the file double click on it. If you have downloaded and installed winzip and winrar correctly your computer will automatically open it with them. Then you must extract them into your Downloads folder.
There is another type of file that once double clicked will automaticaly install to your game. A little window will pop up first asking you to Install or cancel. Click install and then you're done.
E-mail me if you get stuck or confused.
