Solitaire homes or Patroit homes Are the best on the market.
Palm Harbor is the prettiest but they are crap. so are the rest you mentioned.
I did Refurbish work on manufactured homes for 12 years contracting with Greentree financial services.
Rules to look for when buying a mobile home
Always look past the pretty the fancier they are usually means the cheaper they are made.
Look at the floors are they 3/4 t&g plywoog or better or are the a composite material of glued together wood chips Like palm harbor offers. Then they claim they are better. Just ask for a sample of floor then soak it in water for a few days and see what happens. This is what will happen with a hidden leak. Major expense...
2x4 wall or 2x6 thicker wall better insulation
16 in centers
Floor joust 2x6 or better with grid lock system
Ceiling rafters look at how they are made
Look at how truly cheap all the pretty little eyecatchers in the house are made . ask to buy the home without all of these expensive items and see how little value they place on them.
MOST IMPORTANT check your states complaint sites for each manufactured home and check for unresolved complaints.
Last time I did this Soliataire had less than 4% reported complaints Palm Harbor had 30% that is one out of three homes sold.
Be a wise shopper as your new home if purchased properly will last you the 20 to 30 years it takes to pay it off
if you buy a decent home you can always add quality prettys later and have a real home

No one can pick "the best". Everybody has diffferent opinions. One thing to consider are the options you want. Manufacturers all offer different options, at different prices.Maybe the corner tub is only available at brand X, but it's $4,000, and you can't afford it. You really need to do some shopping. Find a sales area that sells more than one brand, and do your own comparison. I am in NW OH, and Four Seasons has the reputation of giving you the best value for your dollar. Translated, you get what you pay for. They seem to do it well around here.

I've lived in a Redman for 20 years with no complaints. If I were going to buy a new one today, I'd make arrangements to visit the factories where each is built and see the homes in each stage of completion. Also, there are many upgrades you can get on the homes, such as "house style" doors and windows, premium siding and flooring, etc. Ask about the available upgrades. Check with the dealer or manufacturer about what is offered. If they cannot make arrangements for you to visit the factory, I wouldn't buy their product.

Stay away from Palm Harbor.
Bought mine at the Buda (Tx.) store in 2006.
Roof has been replaced.
Siding is going.
With the roof leaking.....now the inside ceiling has to be re-painted.
Toilets were great.....if you stand about 4 feet tall. They looked like they belong in
a child s day care center.
Set up crew was joke. (NOTE: A setup crew is very important. You can have a great
mobile trailer, but if the set up crew is the pits, so will be your
trailer. Of course I didn t have that "problem" as my mobile
trailer sucked to begin with!
Kitchen island was well built....but out of alignment with the kitchen walls.
Inside of BOTH bathroom cabinets were not painted....got RAW OSB board.
I have built in "flow-thru-ventilation"......with the windows CLOSED!!!
I could go on.....avoid Palm Harbor.

I've heard bad things about Fleetwood...structural problems, leaking, etc. I'm currently looking at some Claytons myself. Don't know anything about the other two.

I am not sure about the brands you have listed, but I know you DO NOT want to buy a Southern Energy Home. I believe they are owned by Clayton. The homes are not built well, and the customer service is terrible.

Have you looked at the Deer Valley homes. I bought one a year ago and I love it. They are well made and you can't tell them from a house when you get inside. They are very well insulated. Mine is all electric and my highest electric bill was $150.00. They have a website where you can look at some of their models www.deervalleycorp.com
