why are gays not accepted in society and lesbians are?

Society is patriarchal. When you look at it with that perspective just look at the pros and cons for straight men. You have to take into consideration that men think with their ***** and another dick isn't appealing to them. They feel that gay sex is sick, disturbing and gross. Homophobia in their perspective is fear of another dick and defacement from being seen as passive.

Lesbians on the other hand are very appealing because men are greedy. Even though men don't have two ***** needed to have any real use in a setting with two women, their greed overcomes that. Considering how the porn industry is male oriented and in a lesbian porn setting the two women are happy to invite a man to join, this makes men think that they have a chance regardless of how real lesbianism is stricktly non-male.

I think both gays & lesbians have a LONG LONG way to go before anyone can truthfully say that either is "accepted". Homosexuality period is still looked down upon. But i will say that lesbianism tends to be easier for some to be okay with because its seems a little more natural to them that a woman could be attracted to another woman. Especailly if both women are feminine. Butch women still have it extremely hard, about as hard as gay men, because there masculinity is snubbed. Where feminie gay mens femininity is snubbed.

neither are really accepted its just guys diss on gays more than lesbians becuase the majority of guys find lesbians to be hot..its a fantasy of every guy to have a 3 some with 2 girls so it makes it easier to deal with seeing it in this society....i think all of it should be accepted if they want to be that way why stop them..its their life thats like saying you cant be who you want to be or grow up and be something you want to be becuase its not accepted by everyone...your mom teaches you to do what u want and what makes you happy not what other people want...im straight but i still dont look down on gays as long as they arent fruity to me and respect that im straight.

because most straight men are very insecure with their own sexuality therefore do not want to see 2 men together. but on the other hand they look at lesbians as very sexy,sensual & erotic. if straight men could own up to the fact that it does not gross them out as much as they lead on society would be a much better place! gay men would be veiwed much differently!

I don't know, but I see your point. Maybe since the world is very male dominated and most heterosexual males have the girl on girl fantasy it has become sort of a novelty. I really just don't know though, couldn't tell ya.

I don't know where you get your information from, but plays are widely accepted as a form of entertainment. Thespians though. . .I don't know why they waste their time with tragedies. . .the world is a dung pit enough without tragedy.
