I'm a Giants fan, and I was under the impression that they had a ton of money to spend. They are one of the few teams that have made zero moves. Anyone know why?

Dude, i just asked the same question 2 minutes ago.
How do you cut 6 guys and draft no one??

They lose Ahmad Green, Jamal Lewis and Thomas Jones to other teams, when they desperately need a VETERAN running back.

THis sucks, and i feel your pain.

This off season free agency isn't great, I've seen the people being released which have been mutiple Pro Bowl selections. Joey Porter, Jamaal Lewis, to name a few. Giants just need a strong O-Line, another RB, a good no. 2 or 3 WR, defensive backs, and not have injuries that last the entire season, (i.e. LB's 2 years ago and Strahan and Osi out last year)

The Giants are actively pursuing Donnie Edwards but are working out exactly how much a 34 yr old linebacker is worth. Edwards had yet another solid season last year but age will soon catch up to him and knowing that this is his last chance for a huge contract he is taking full advantage.
The Giants are also looking at TJ Duckett.
The free agent year is still young so be patient Giants Fan. GO BRONCOS!!!

I don't know about the Giants, but I have it worse than you. I am a Raiders fan and we are doing even less. But to kinda answer your question, the salary cap usually have a lot to do with the team ability to make moves or not, so...

some teams probably are concentrating more on the draft then free agency. They might not have the cap space to go out and pay a bunch of good players to come to to thier team.

In all honesty, there are not really any "great" free agents. Years like this it is better to address problems through the draft. The Giants biggest problem is the coach anyway.

They have been visited by Dominic Rhoades from the Colts. I think he'd be a good start at replacing Tiki Barber. Not a total replacement but, a good start.

The new gm has said that he will not do anything unless it makes sense to do so. Since this year's free agent market isn't all that great to begin with you can understand why he isn't doing much.
