we have been together for 8 years and I love him very much, he got himself involved with this other woman when he went out with his friends. He's still here with me on certain days and the rest of the week he's with her, he tells me he does not know what he is going to do, its been a year now, and I'm waiting patiently for his decision. I care for him too much to give up on us.

Truth is that every relationship is unique and need not necessarily follow the usual conventions in order to be successful. At least he is being up front and honest with you about it.

The real question is how YOU feel about it. If you're good with it, then fine. If you really aren't, then you need to be equally honest with him.

Dont do it to yourself. My mom went through the same thing. Only as the years passes the family grew, she was pregnant- the other one was pregnant- Then suddenly a third woman was pregnant, then a fourth and every one dealt with it cause my dad was such a lovable person. 13 kids later no one is happy. especially not the kids. I hated sharing my dad. The women all end up hating each other too.

Do you not value yourself more than to sit and wait on someone who degrades you? you say you love him but on the days he is over at the other woman's are you laid up with another man like he is with her? you should not wait on him to make up his mind you should make it for him and kick him to the curb.

Is he living with her as her common law husband as well? If so, make the decision for him, it's either you or her.

Simple as that.
