I watched the 5th Estate last night - Part of the program showed how the American media has been slanted to the right and political pressure has been put on broadcasters to toe the Presidential line
Anne Coulter was asked a few questions - Do you think Iraq is better off today Her Answer was "Do you get newspapers in Canada?" The reporter asked a few American representives why it was that the poison gas used by Sadam to kill Kurds was used to justify the war when it was the Americans who sold it to Sadam and that happened 15 years before the invasion -Again no answersThe reporter then asks why has there been a war with Iraq when Saudi Arabia is the one who housed the terrorists Bin Laden and supplied the plans for the 9/11 attack? -- No answers at all - I believe Anne Coulter's well thought out response was to looked miffed the reporter had the guts to ask a real question What is it with the so called free press down there. I am getting the impresion that the media has been ceased

The above is the web-site for CBC's 5th Estate

CBC stands for Canadian Broadcasting Corperation and it doesn't get more credible than that in my opinion

The CBC plays that interview with great frequency.
Ann Coulter is a not a journalist, she is a commentator, and thus not bound by facts.

She does not answer questions, she has never been good at answering question, rather she voices an opinion.

She is an ill informed narcissist, and should not under any circumstances be a source of information.

I saw the 5th Estate show last night and thought it was excellent. As I was watching, I had similar thoughts to yours, I wondered how many serious, honest journalists in the US (hopefully there are some still), and in the world would love to be able to produce a tv show like that, and better yet, why don't they?? why has the media lost its backbone? I was hoping millions would be watching it... glad to see that may be true. As for Ms Coulter... total lack of class, manners, professionalism, credibility. Her only value is as a tv entertainer, and the role she's playing is arrogant above all, angry, obnoxious and redundant.

Yes I saw W5 last night too but I have always wondered why this type of show is not developed in the USA.

There is one US Journalist who really has courage. She always sits in the front row during the Bush administration interviews. Her name is??? Thomas. She is the older lady who really has my respect and many many other people.

She is usually not allowed to ask the President a question but she did have an opportunity last year. She asked the President that if the USA did not go to war with Iraq for oi, why did the USA go to war?
'
That was beautiful.

The only other US Journalist is Jack Cafferty on CNN.

Here is another Ann Coulter classic from the 5th Estate. Tell us about those Canadian troops in Vietnam, Ann!!! lmao what a smug loser.

The answer is simple: typical conservative who can't even speak when confronted with the truth and worthy discussion that isn't on their narrow agenda.

This is the second time 5th Estate has interviewed her. The first time, they interviewed her and Bill O'Reilly. And in my opinion, they made complete asses of both of them. They didn't answer a question directly, and in the case of O'Reilly, he made up some statistics to support an idea of his. When 5th Estate investigated his claims, it was proven to be false. When they tried to follow up with him, he would not reply. But they showed his comments on his own show afterward, telling Canada that they better smarten up, or one day the US is going to wake up and roll over them.

The 5th Estate is a long running and highly respected journalistic program...unlike anything on Fox News.

I think Anne Coulter is a man and that all of this is an act so she can make money.

anne is way out there but the statement that the US media is slanted right is way, way off base. almost no major written media outlet is conservative. almost all are completely liberal. and as for the t.v. media. the only one i have ever heard of as being "pro-bush" is fox. almost all others are liberal. anne is to conservatives what howard dean is to liberals.she does not speak on behalf of the party.

I think Ann Coulter has become a comedy act as of late. It's a shame because she used to actually have very good points and could debate well, but has become a jerk.

The biggest lie told today is that the American media has a liberal bias.
