I often hear conservatives express concern for the small business owners...but do you actually support them? Do you make an effort to spend your money in their stores? Or is saving a few bucks at the big box retailers more important to you?

You get a much better level of service from small businesses.

Being a small business owner, I try to use others, because I understand - I have walked miles and miles in their shoes.

For instance, I use a independant mechanic over a big car dealership. I go out of my way to buy products that are produced in my state (Oklahoma), I support local 1 shop restaurant owners, I prefer to use a small, local bank for my business over a conglomerate like Bank of America. I use BoA for personal, because we travel often with my wife's job, and it is convenient as hell...there is one everywhere.

I do use wal-mart, simply because the propriator type stores are gone in OK City, and all that is left are large chains...so, walmart provides the most convenience and generally (but not always) the best price.

I am a registered independant...but since I have been on YA, and seen how far left the dems are, I guess I am a conservative.

I shop at small businesses whenever possible but where I live, the Midwest, there are very few small businesses. And most of the few that are here have poor service, no selection, and higher prices. Why exactly would I support that?

I try to, am a small business owner myself, service. Big boxes don't have everything, and usually sub-par quality. I hate WalMart, but wife shops there.

I go to small businesses too. I even take my cart (weather permitting of course) to the local grocery stores, pet shops, etc. instead of my car. I love the little boutiques in my area (I get great discounts there as well). See,I,m a conservative, but I'm not as evil as people say. LOL!

Many things are not available at the "big box" stores like:

-good service
-advice on products
-a wide selection

Nope. I never shop at Wal-Mart or Home Depot.

The extra money is worth the added quality and service.

That's interesting; I never hear conservatives express concern for small business owners. I only hear them talk about major corporations.
