I need some help coming up with topics. I am in high school but taking college english. Please help me come up with topics but please let them be intelligent, more than cats vs. dogs.

Animals are always interesting topics, though. How about comparing pet owners who choose thoroughbred dogs versus owners who choose mutts. Is there a correlation between expendable income and breed choice? Do owners of expensive animals spend more at the vet's office and the groomer's, than owners of mutts?
How about comparing car choices to how people care for their cars. Go to any parking lot and check out the cars. Which ones are the clean, well-cared-for cars? You almost never see a scruffy-looking Corvette, but are people also in love with their Lexus, their Hummer, their Oldsmobile? Are new off-road vehicles kept clean, or is dirt the sign of a real "off-roader"?
Compare and contrast people who ride the bus. How many are students, how many going to executive-type jobs, how many are laborers. How many are riding around, just unemployed? What are their reasons for riding? Are they environmentalists, too poor for a car, unable to drive for some physical reason, do they like the ride, etc.
