In terms of abortion, I define a life as one that can be sustained outside a womb. It may be premature, and be sustained by artificial means until such time as it may develop its own capacity for life sustanance. Therefore, when it comes to pro-choice, versus pro-life...I am in support of a woman's right to choose what happens to her body...unless the fetus is at a stage that it could support itself outside the womb, or with medical intervention. I do not believe that a fetus should have the same rights as a human being from the time of conception...and to put those rights above those of an adult woman is preposterous.
Just my opinion...as was asked. Not meant to offend anyone.
Thanks for the question....

I define a life as being free to make your choices that are right for you. No matter what you feel later, you make those choices in the time of a certain event, and that is that. It is something you - not anyone else - has to live with, and be comfortable with.
The choice of abortion is a very personal one, and one that should be made by those that are personally involved - not by Alice Moral up the road that feels it is wrong.
Keeping abortion legal will keep people alive and well. Abortion, kept legal, is regulated by the AMA and the US Government. Making it illegal will make it so any jerk with a coathanger and a cot can perform them, and they will get customers. They will have NO medical training/schooling, and they will not have any guidelines or health codes to follow. And they will not have any ethics to follow. They will not only kill the unborn, but the mother as well. Is that what the Pro Life people want?
Education is the key. Allow kids to be educated about sex, and the ramifications of choosing to have sex - the diseases, the physical effects, and the chance of pregnancy. People are going to have sex if they choose to. Making abortion illegal isn't going to stop that. Reducing the number of abortions in the country will happen by educating those having sex, and making birth control more available. But Alice Moral isn't going to like that either. But she can't have her cake and eat it too.
I define life as being when an organizm can be self-sustaining without a host. A fetus can't achieve that until well after the cut off of 12 weeks for an abortion. So as long as the woman is forced to be pregnant or not, I think that woman has the right to choose. When it becomes possible for those that oppose abortion to carry that pregnancy to term and support that child financially, then I think it will be fitting to make abortion illegal, and take the choice out of the hands of the women that would be forced to be pregnant and support the unwanted children.

Umm.....wow that's a sensitive subject but I believe each and every person regardless of being either man or woman has a choice. So I guess that would make me pro-choice.
Personally I think that until the cells of a 'baby' are developed enough to say, breathe on it's own, then it's a life. I think as soon as there's that first breath it's a sign that a life has begun. Anytime before that, I guess I would argue that it's just a bunch of cells, although I can understand the argument that there's more to it than that.
I agree with Super.

The "pro-life" movement defines abortion as immoral. Morals are usually defined as based on the Bible, for lack of any other durable basis for morals.
If you truly accept the Bible, God "breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living soul." IOW, if it breathes it is alive. Abortions are not murder.
On the other hand, for the pro-choice, a person does have free choice- to breed, or not to breed. That is the question.

i see it as both sides no i feel abortions are wrong, but certain situations are "iffy" in my opinion. for example a middle class teenage girl becomes pregnant many strict families are very strict and would disown their daughter for such an act (this is a true story) she was 17 and all through high school had the stereotypical Asian grades Happy parents and family, now a halting, life-changing situation, i personally do not feel one could part with a child once holding it and seeing the love of it, but should one's future be compromised with being responsible of another life when they are obviously not ready for such a responsibility? she did end up having an abortion by court and her parents never found out, but the experience will probably haunt her through out her life. is it right? i think she made the best decision she could. if she continues her carefree attitude though, as before stated karma will "be a *****"

Life is when you are living. It isn't exculsive to those who live outside a womb or those who are documented by the government. Just like Trees are alive, even though they can not live on their own if you cut the roots from them. Just like Illegal Aliens are alive, despite not being recognized by the government as one of their citezens.
When a Man (or Woman for that matter) kills a pregnant Woman, the guy/gal is charged with double-murder for the death of the Woman and unborn baby. So it's kind of hypocritical for the government to recognize a baby in a time of homicide like this, but not in abortion.

if it is alive is it not living. it is totally the womens responsability to prevent pregnancy. and just because it is her body does not give her the right to kill an unborn child. this is my moral point of view, right or wrong.and if it is the womans body, she should do more to prevent this from becoming a problem in the first.other than rape, incest or life endangerment the child should be carried to term, put the baby up for adoption and give the woman $10,000.00 for her troubles.

In my opinion, I would have to say once a heartbeart develops. Currently, I think abortion is deplorable, but, I also feel that it is a womans choice to make. They'll have to explain themselves in the afterlife later.

i believe that abortion is the worst thing anyone could do, but if it absoloutely calls for it, such as bringing the baby into a poor environment then it has to be done im afraid
but for people who get an abortion because they didnt use proctecttion and/or aren;t ready for a kid.. their scum who should take the consequences for what they done
