That is not a proper question. But there are 8 planets in our galaxy (Milky Way). Pluto doesn't count as a planet any more. But if you count all the dwarf planets also there are 13.Hope my answer helped a little bit.

Oh and John Doe there is only 1 star in the milky way and that is our sun and that we know of only 8 actually planets.

I would suggest searching for well known equation known as the "Drake Equation". It was developed by Frank Drake back in the early sixties as a quantitative tool for computing alien civilizations able to communating with us in the Milky Way Galaxy. Basically, the equation has several terms, but the first two are the number of stars in the Milky Way, (100 billion), and second is the fraction of them with planets ( estimate of ~ 20 %). Then you have about 20 billion planets in the Milky Way alone.

Well, the world is a planet. Has for the Universe, their are the eight in the Solar System (Pluto isn't a classified planet anymore) but we know about 125 Planets. Their is no way that we have seen every planet in the Universe. Their are thousands we haven't detected.

It's not world. Let's see.

If its solar system, then 11. Mercury to neptune. Pluto is out so 8, three more planets are discovered. They are ub313, Sedna and Ceres(previously considered asteroid but is too big for it).

If that's extra terrstrial (out of the solar system) then it's 27 till date. Eris is very far away and three planets are discovered twice the size of jupiter.

all of these people are Wrong!!!! there are countless planets throughout the universe. so far astronomers have found over 200 planets orbiting other stars. considering there are about a hundred billion stars in our galaxy and around a 100 billion galaxies that is alot of stars that could have planets. think about this...there are more stars than there are grains of sand on every beach on earth. our sun, just one star has 8 planets and hundreds of minor planets. so god only knows how many planets are out there!!!!!!!
