I manage a local rock band and attend all of their concerts... I also like to see other concerts pretty regularly. I'm not pregnant yet, but my husband and I are thinking about trying soon... I need to know if this would be harmful to a baby!

I had the same problem when I was pregnant with my first...my husband was in a rock band. My doctor told me it's ok until you get further along...as in the third trimester...because they're ears are fully developed and it could harm their ears.

no, the loud music should not be harmful to your unborn baby at all. Although I am not near a rock band by any means. When I was pregnant with my first son I listened to loud, loud, loud music while driving in my car All the time....and now my toddler absolutely loves music and always has since he was born. Maybe it is a cowinkey dink.....but then again maybe not :) .
And he has no hearing problems whatsoever.

It is ok until about the third trimester. It will not hurt their ears but the vibrations of the music can affect their sleep patterns and can make the baby restless. It is not recommended to have more than 10 minutes of consistent loud sound during this time

During early development they adjust to it well but the further along in development the baby is the less loud noise he/she will be able to tolerate without damage. Keep in mind not only will you be damaging your eardrums but your babies as well. If you stay towards the back and it doesn't make your ears ring your should be ok, that or just avoid them during your last trimester. Good Luck!

I hope not. I am almost 26 weeks pregnant and i am one of those people who likes to blast my music in my car. If my music isn't loud, i don't wanna hear it. My husband hates loud noises of any kind and he always gets on me about it, but i don't think its hurting the baby. The kids probably accustomed to it by now. Who know, the baby probably likes it and is dancing in there :)

Not at all. Actually in the 2nd almost 3rd trimester, your baby will be acustom to those sounds and as an infant may not be phased by loud sounds. Good Luck in trying!

you know I've heard that some babies absolutely love the sounds of drums and will respond to any type of music... I'd say your fine all the way up to about the end of your 2nd trimester when the babys ears have fully developed.
